Los Cabos is the premium end of the Mexican coast: golf, marinas, and some of the country's highest-priced coastal inventory, much of it quoted in US dollars. It suits buyers who want resort-grade amenities and are comfortable at international price points. The two towns feel quite different.

Where to live
Cabo San Lucas is the marina, nightlife and big-resort end. San José del Cabo is quieter, with an art-walk old town and a more residential feel. The Tourist Corridor between them holds the marquee gated golf communities. Expect USD pricing and HOA-heavy developments throughout.
Cost of living & climate
This is one of the most expensive coastal markets in Mexico, and it behaves like an international resort economy: much of the inventory is priced and transacted in USD, so peso weakness doesn't discount it the way it does elsewhere. Expect gated communities, robust HOA fees, and amenities (golf, beach clubs, concierge) baked into the cost of ownership. Groceries and services skew higher than mainland Mexico because so much is imported and tourism-priced. The climate is desert-by-the-sea — sunny and dry almost year-round, hot in late summer, with the peak season and peak prices falling in the cooler winter months when North American demand is highest.
